When will the conference take place?
Pre-conference activities take place on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August, 2016. For all pre-conference information, please view the Pre-Conference section of our website.
The main conference runs from mid-day Monday 29th to Wednesday 31st August, 2016. For all conference information, please view the Conference section of our website.
Where will the conference take place?
All pre-conference (DevCon) proceedings will take place in the Aerial UTS Function Centre, 235 Jones Street, Level 7, Building 10, Ultimo NSW 2007.
All conference activities proceedings and keynote sessions will take place in the Rydges World Square, 389 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW 200).

Who will attend?
Educators, course designers, system administrators, teaching and learning specialists, and senior e-learning managers from Higher and Further education institutions across Australia and New Zealand. Blackboard executives, with representatives from Blackboard’s Support, Technical, Consulting Services, Training, Marketing, Sales and Managed Hosting teams.

What’s included in my conference fee?
Speaker Registration (only for accepted presenters)
Discounted full conference registration. Includes access to all conference breakout sessions, workshops, keynotes and general sessions, social activities, lunches and refreshment breaks from the conference opening on Monday 29th August to the closing session on Wednesday 31st August, conference materials including program guide, and access to the exhibit hall.
Full Conference Registration
As above, but discounted only for Earlybird registrations (prior to 11 July 2016)
Single Day Registration
Conference activities as described above, but specific to one day only (Sunday, Monday Tuesday or Wednesday). Note: this registration does not include Conference Networking Evening on Monday 29th August). If you wish to attend this evening social event, a separate ticket may be purchased.
Designed for those who are travelling with a partner/guest and would like to bring that guest to the Conference Networking Evening on Monday 29th August. Includes access to the Exhibit Hall.
Includes access to all DevCon presentation sessions/workshops, evening social activity on Sunday 28th August, morning refreshments, lunch and afternoon refreshments on Sunday 28th and morning refreshments and lunch on Monday 29th plus DevCon conference materials.
DevCon and Full Conference Registration
This combined ticket includes all conference access as described above for these categories, but at a discounted fee for attending both events.
Can I get a Discount?
Yes! Here’s how:
- By registering as an Earlybird (up to and including 11th July 2016) you will receive the Earlybird rate – registrations after this date will rise! Based on the full conference registration rates.
- By being a Speaker – submit a proposal for a paper to be delivered at the conference and, if accepted, you will receive an automatic discounted conference rate
- By bringing your colleagues to the conference with you – register 5+ people from within your institution, and you will receive a group discount. This discount applies to both Earlybird and Regular registrations.
How do I get to Sydney?
You can find lots of travel information on our Location page, including directions to the Aerial UTS Function Centre, Rydges World Square and information on Airlines flying into Sydney.
Can I stay at the main conference venue?
Yes you can. The Rydges World Square Hotel is offering all delegates who would like to stay at the venue, a Deluxe King Room (max. 3 guests per room) for $209 per night. Please use this link to book:
What will the dress code be?
Smart and casual; we like our delegates to feel comfortable!
Throughout August the average daytime temperatures in Sydney is around 14°C though it can get quite cold, especially in the evenings. Average minimum temperatures generally tend to hover around 9°C, so carrying warm clothing would be advisable at night. However, despite it being winter, high temperatures in the city still regularly hit 18°C.
