Travel & Transportation
Our recommendation for travel and transportation in Darwin is to catch a taxi from the airport to and from the hotel. If you are attending activities which are not at the main conference venue, we will arrange bus transportation.
However, if you wish to stay longer in Darwin or do some sightseeing, we recommend you hire a car as taxis are not readily available, and there can be significant delays for them to arrive.
Book your transport to depart the airport in advance. Taxis can take approximately 20 minutes to arrive at your location once called.
Please note, Uber and other ride-sharing services are not yet available in Darwin.
Flights to and from Darwin are available from all major cities and some regional airports. Given the proximity Darwin has to many Asian countries, attendees may wish to take a short trip for a holiday break after their stay for the conference also.
Travelling around the Northern Territory by car gives you freedom, flexibility, and with the right vehicle, access all areas. Distances in the Northern Territory are vast, so plan ahead for rest stops.
Let someone else to the driving: travel the Northern Territory by bus and coach. Public buses will get you around town, coaches will do the long-haul, and guided tours will take you to all the Territory's top attractions.
