Faculty Training Sessions

We have a series of training sessions on Wednesday April 6 that are free to attend for our all our Teaching & Learning Conference attendees. 

Wednesday Morning Sessions
Join us from 09:30 to 12:15 for a series of parallel workshops and training.

  • Training Led by Academics: How to use Blackboard solutions to engage, motivate, and provide feedback to students.
  • Learning Analytics: Workshop on building institutional readiness
  • Using Badges To Motivate And Engage Students by the University of Southern Denmark
  • Digital Examinations: How running examinations up to 15 hours a day, 6 days per week can save academics 6600 academic marking hours.
  • Sharing Best Practice at the University of Groningen: A Student Centric Approach by the University of Groningen

Time Title Description
14:30 – 15:15 Flipped Classroom Training In this first of three dedicated Faculty Training sessions, an overview of the Flipped Classroom concept, including what constitutes a successful deployment of the Flipped Classroom will be presented. Lloyd Stock from Blackboard Consulting Services will also share design and delivery tips, activation strategies as well as customer examples of a successful Flipped Classroom deployment.
15:45 – 16:30 Exemplary Course Design Basics In the second of the Faculty Training sessions, an introduction to the basics of Exemplary Course design, including an example of an exemplary course and some tips to teachers for creating their own courses will be shared. This session will be delivered by Lloyd Stock form Blackboard Consulting Services and Alan Masson from Blackboard Customer Success.
16:35 – 17:20 Collaborate Tips & Tricks Training In the final installment of the Faculty Training sessions, Lloyd Stock from Blackboard Consulting Services will provide a hands-on training on making the most of Blackboard Collaborate as a virtual classroom experience.
